The 3e-522FIPS Wireless Gateway incorporates advanced cryptographic modules which fully conform to the FIPS 140-2 validation specifications for secure wireless networking. The Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) is a standard, published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which describes U.S. Federal Government requirements for IT products needing to meet Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) use.
The 3e-522FIPS includes the following cryptographic modules: AES/3DES for wireless encryption; dynamic key exchange (Diffie-Hellman module 1024) for wireless communication; and HTTPS/TLS, for secure web communication. MAC Address authentication is also available in both access point and gateway mode. |
