FastCode® is a state of the art coding tool to transform narrative expressions (diagnosis, clinical findings, etc.) from natural language into a classification system. It provides a faster and much more accurate way to find classification codes: FastCode® analyzes the meaning of the input words and performs a search based on the related medical concepts as stored in the LinKBase® medical ontology. This approach improves speed and accuracy while accurately accommodating synonyms, homonyms, compound words and spelling variations. Thanks to the formal links to other medical ontologies and terminologies such as ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT, READ, SNOMED-RT, as well as proprietary lexicons and dictionaries of customers, L&C can code against a vast array of targets.
