This case study involves Argo Turboserve Corporation (ATC), a company that specializes in the management of spare parts for turbines, aerospace, utilities, and other industries.
When their old Linux-based ADP system became to cumbersome and began hindering the company's productivity, ATC chose to implement Microsoft Business Solutions-Axapta (now part of Microsoft Dynamics). This solution was less than one-third the cost of J.D. Edwards and allowed ATC to do much of the implementation in-house and save an additional $150,000. And by reducing first year programming costs, another $200,000 was saved by ATC.
They are able to streamline many more processes now. They can also put more processes on the same server, as opposed to before, when they had more servers, more problems and more things to worry about. Now, with the higher performance they are getting from the HP ProLiant servers with AMD processors and Microsoft Dynamics AX, they are able to do multiple processes on those servers and not have to worry about anything.
