Organizations are quickly moving to virtualization, which, in turn, offers them the opportunity to move and adapt to change much faster -- for the first time, even faster than the business can move. We call this “operating at the speed of virtualization.” Unfortunately, this speed of virtualization is uncovering weaknesses in the risk and compliance processes and controls currently in place. With virtualization, IT shops are at crossroads to accelerate both compliance and security to match the speed of virtualization or slowdown virtualization to match antiquated processes established in the physical data center. The good news for IT is that the natural course of virtualization adoption provides time to make these changes. As a result, vendors are delivering new technologies to help close the gap between legacy controls and processes and what's required in the virtualized data center.
