ABSTRACT:
Given the current rate of data growth across all organizations, simply scaling up storage infrastructure is not a viable option. To keep storage management costs low, organizations need proactive solutions that eliminate the challenges caused by data growth.
This podcast contains a real-world example of a large medical nonprofit managing massive volumes of data and its transition from tape-based to disk-only storage systems. Because of recent advances in virtualization and deduplication, this organization was able to increase backup performance, shorten RTOs, lighten management burden, cut costs and more by switching to disk-only storage.
